Swansea City fans look to have another star on their hands. In the Summer they saw Dan James and Oli McBurnie depart for the Premier League, and Swans fans reckon Joe Rodon will be doing the same next Summer, if not January.

The 21-year-old has played every minute of Swansea’s Championship campaign so far, and is even a regular in the Wales team since making his debut against Azerbaijan in the Summer.

Rodon’s performances in the heart of Swansea’s and Wales’ defence has made him a huge favourite amongst fans, and a potential target for Manchester City, who were linked with Rodon this time last year.

Steve Cooper’s Swansea are currently fourth in the Championship after their flying start to the season has slowed down somewhat - winning just one of their last five in the league.

Nevertheless, Swansea have been revitalised by Cooper and his introduction of Rodon as a regular in the defence has pleased fans.

Rodon’s future at the club may be coming to an end, maybe sooner than expected for Swansea fans who expect Rodon to be a Premier League player by next year, if not January.

Even if Swansea could pull off a promotion-winning season and find themselves in the Premier League next season, fans don’t seem too hopeful of their new star centre-back staying much longer after this season.

Pep Guardiola will already know about Rodon and after seeing how he’s performed so far for club and country this season, could be in the market for him and fans believe that bank them more than the James transfer did.

Swansea have developed a knack for producing quality youngsters in recent seasons. James and Rodon are arguably the two most impressive, but not forgetting McBurnie who moved to Sheffield United in the Summer, and Yan Dhanda, Benjamin Cabango and first-choice keeper Frederick Woodman who’ve all be features in Cooper’s campaign so far.

As much as Swansea fans wouldn’t want to see Rodon leave, without Premier League football, they’ve not much else to offer him.

Here then, is what they have had to say recently...
