Football League World's Fulham fan pundit Charles Jones has pinpointed a key area in which Scott Parker needs to go about strengthening when the January transfer window comes around in a few months time.

The Cottagers of course underwent something of a squad rebuild this summer following their dismal Premier League campaign, with a total of 10 players being shown the door by Parker this summer, with a further seven coming in the other direction.

Despite significantly strengthening his side in several areas, our Fulham fan pundit was quick to point out an area in which Parker has largely overlooked this summer, with Jones stating the following about the left back spot:

"An injury to Joe Bryan would likely see either Maxime Le Marchand or Tim Ream pushed to full-back, and nobody wants to see that.

"Ream is important to have at centre-back, and the Frenchman unfortunately looks lost whenever he steps onto a football pitch.

"We could really do with some cover, as staying fit over a 46-game season is a very tough task."

It is easy to understand the issue from our fan pundit's point of view, with the Whites only possessing Joe Bryan who can fulfill that role, they run the risk of being left short of cover if the 26-year-old does indeed pick up an injury.

Parker would certainly be wise to consider bringing in reinforcements, particularly with their being a swell in the amount of fixtures which are to be played over the next few months.

It is a well known fact that most of the teams who gain promotion to the Premier League make use of the depth in their squad, with injuries and lack of form an inevitably nowadays, causing manager's to change tactics now and again.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Parker goes about improving his squad in January, with the Whites looking to solidify their place as one of the main promotion favourites this term.
