Gustavo Hamer has a fair few clubs interested in him at the moment after what has been a positive season for him for Coventry City.
Football League World has been told that several clubs on these shores are interested in signing him with the likes of Brentford, Brighton and Norwich all keen.
Would he be a good signing for Brighton? Our writers discuss…
Brighton could be an ideal place for Gustavo Hamer to continue his development.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a strong season for Coventry City in the Championship and he certainly seems like a player who is capable of playing at a higher level.
Brighton have a good history of helping technically-gifted players to thrive at the top level and I think that Hamer could be the next player on that list.
Whether they’ll be able to beat the significant competition to his signature, however, remains to be seen.
Brighton could well lose Yves Bissouma this summer and as a result of this, it is no surprise to see them looking elsewhere.
I feel that Hamer would be a good starting point for the Seagulls to look at, as he has greatly impressed for Coventry this term.
He would arguably come cheaper than a lot of similar targets in his position and could really add something different to the club’s current squad.
Graham Potter has shown that he has a keen eye for lower league talent and I think Hamer would really fit the bill for him this summer.
This may not be a bad signing for Brighton to look into come the summer.
It seems as though speculation around the future of Yves Bissouma will not be going away any time soon, and if he does move on, then Brighton will certainly have to bring in another option to help fill that void in the centre of midfield.
That is a role that Hamer has shown he can operate in at Coventry, and having previously enjoyed top-flight experience in Holland as well, he may well feel as though he is now ready to try and make the step up to the Premier League with a club such as Brighton.
Indeed, you feel as though the Premier League finances they have available to them should make this an affordable for Brighton, so their interest in the 23-year-old could be well worth following up on.
