Jamal Blackman’s Leeds United career came to an abrupt end on Friday, with the on loan goalkeeper breaking his leg in an under-23 fixture.

Leeds had brought Blackman in on a season-long loan from Chelsea in the summer, with the 25-year-old competing with Bailey Peacock-Farrell for the goalkeeping gloves.

On Friday, it was announced that Blackman was heading back to Stamford Bridge following his leg-break, leaving Leeds with just one senior goalkeeper on their books.

It’s been revealed by the Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds will prioritise a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window, with Peacock-Farrell set to retain the gloves until then.

Will Huffer is one player who will provide cover for the 22-year-old, but Leeds are obviously short of a second senior goalkeeper at this crucial stage of the season.
