It has recently been reported by Football Insider that Wolves have joined Aston Villa in the race to sign Bolton youngster Dennis Politic.

The winger has been a rare bright spark in a frustrating league campaign to date, with the Trotters fighting to survive in League One.

Football League World's Bolton Wanderers fan pundit Lewis Cowell has issued high-praise for Politic, and outlined his attributes going forward for Kieth Hill's men.

"Politic has been fantastic so far this season and has earned his spot in the starting XI. He is a real threat going forward and always looks likely to score in the box.

"He’s very skilful and loves to run at players which is what we want from our younger players, to play with no fear and he does that week in week out.

"The only downfall to his game is that something’s he doesn’t see the obvious pass and tries to pull off the extraordinary, occasionally losing the ball. However, apart from that minor downfall he's shown great potential."

Cowell went on to admit that he expects Politic to remain at the University of Bolton Stadium this season though, and felt that Politic would want to play regularly in senior football, which seems highly unlikely with either Wolves or Aston Villa this season.

"A young promising player always looks likely to leave a lower league club once they become a regular in the starting XI however, I personally think that Politic would prefer to stay at the club.

"He’s a player that loves game time as seen last year when he took a loan move to the national league and I think he would much prefer to be a regular starter for Bolton than a reserve or loanee for a club like Wolves or Aston Villa.

"However, in this day and age, cash is key and a young lad like him could be swayed by a large pay cheque. Hopefully he doesn’t take that route."

The regular punter wants to see the youngster remain with Bolton, although he would prefer to see him join Wolves over Aston Villa as he felt Politic could thrive under the guidance of Nuno Espírito Santo for years to come.

"If he was to leave the club I think he would most likely go to Wolves over Aston Villa as he would most likely get a higher wage and would grow more as a player under Nuno Espírito Santo.

"Wolves would also seem the obvious move for a player like Politic as Europa league football is in the mix. Whatever the outcome I hope he isn’t wasted as a player and is used to his full potential by whatever coach he plays under."
