Bournemouth are among a host of sides interested in signing Peterborough United forward Siriki Dembele, according to The Sun.

The 24-year-old was an influential player in League One last season, scoring 11 goals and registering 12 assists as Peterborough won automatic promotion.

But the versatile forward only has a year left on his contract, and could now be set to move on with Stoke, Bournemouth and Fulham reportedly interested.

Peterborough want around £4million for the attacker, it is claimed, but the three clubs are only willing to pay around £2.5million.

Would he be a good signing for Bournemouth? We discuss...

This could be a smart piece of business for Bournemouth to get done in my opinion.

The Cherries do not exactly have a great deal of options in attack at the minute, and they could find themselves even shorter on numbers up top if Arnaut Danjuma is to leave the club this summer, amid speculation around his future.

As a result, an extra option going forward may well be an important addition for Bournemouth, and Dembele is a player who could offer them that, given he has shown in the past that he has plenty of talent and ability with which he can pose a threat to opposition defences.

Indeed, with Dembele having helped Peterborough to promotion from League One last season, that experience could also be useful for Bournemouth in the coming campaign, as they look to win promotion back to the Premier League from the Championship.

With that in mind, it does look as though this could be interest that is well worth following up on for Bournemouth in the next few weeks.

This would be a smart addition for the Cherries.

Realistically, they're going to face a huge battle to keep hold of Arnaut Danjuma and there won't be many who expect him to stay at the club. Therefore, more attacking reinforcements are needed and whilst you wouldn't put pressure on Dembele by claiming he could be as good as Danjuma, he has similar qualities.

He is someone who is excellent on the ball, looks to beat players and contributes in the final third regularly. With David Brooks also in the XI, those two would provide the strikers with plenty of service, which is what they want.

Scott Parker needs to add more creativity and unpredictability to the team and Dembele would do that. Plus, at 24, he is only going to get better and better. This could be a shrewd long-term signing.

This could be the ideal move for him this summer.

Dembele has really impressed me whilst with Peterborough United, and I firmly believe that he deserves a move to a team that are more likely to be challenging for promotion into the Premier League this summer.

Bournemouth can offer just that, with the Cherries narrowly missing out on promotion into the top-flight last term, after a defeat to eventual winners Brentford in their play-off semi-final.

Scott Parker already has some strong options available to him in a similar position, but Dembele would be more likely to break into their starting XI, than with Fulham, who are also believed to be interested in signing him this summer.

It could be a shrewd move by the Cherries if they landed Dembele's signature.
