Arsenal have enjoyed an impressive resurgence since Unai Emery took charge of the club following Arsene Wenger's departure.

He will undoubtedly be looking to strengthen his squad further in the January transfer window, looking at talent for the present and also the future.

One player who they are reportedly keen to bring in is young Blackburn Rovers forward, Vilius Piliukaitis, who moved to Ewood Park on loan in the summer from the Lithuanian National Football Academy.

Rovers have an option to buy the 17-year-old in the January window, but Emery is keen to steal him, according to TEAMtalk.

If Arsenal are to land the exciting prospect they will have to see off competition from their top-six rivals, with Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham all keen on him as well.

Would Piliukaitis be a good signing for the Gunners?

We discuss...

Jacob Potter

This would be the best move for the Blackburn youngster.

Unai Emery has given some youngsters a chance this season and he would certainly benefit from first-team opportunities with the Gunners.

George Harbey

Unai Emery is an admirer of youth prospects, so Piliukaitis could be a useful addition for the future.

He’s looking like a real talent and would surely be pushing for a start when Emery fields a changed line-up in the cup competitions.

Louie Chandler

This would be a very decent move for the forward.

Arsenal have a habit of being very willing to give their young prospects game time in the League Cup and Europa League, so it would be a decent, relatively pressure-free environment to develop.

A move under Wenger might not have been wise, but the Emirates appears to be a good destination for young talent now.
