Leeds United are interested in bringing Juventus wonderkid Stephy Mavididi on loan to Elland Road next season, according to TEAMtalk.

However, it will be difficult transfer to complete, given the amount of other clubs monitoring him, which includes names from both the Premier League and the Championship - Derby, Middlesbrough and Newcastle are amongst those.

Mavididi started his career at Arsenal before making a €2 million move to Italy, where he impressed in the under 23 side last year, scoring seven goals in 34 appearances.

He has previously spent time on loan in the Championship and League One, for Preston and Charlton respectively.

Leeds are in need of more attacking options, with Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe the only first-team forwards available to Marcelo Bielsa.

A loan move could suit both the club and player, Mavididi is a player with great potential, hence why Juventus signed him, but he needs game time under his belt at a level of high standard, which Leeds could provide.

The 21-year-old has made just 32 appearances in his career so far, but his talent is clear for all to see.

So would he be a good signing for Leeds? Here's what our writers say:

George Harbey

"I think that Mavididi could be a smart signing for Leeds United.

"They definitely need another striker, as a strike force of Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford just isn’t enough for them if they want to compete for promotion in the Championship.

"He hasn’t been too prolific in his career, but clearly has something about him if Juventus wanted to sign him.

"He would offer real pace and power up front and could be a decent signing."

Toby Wilding

"This could be a good signing for Leeds.

"Mavididi clearly has plenty of potential, and his attacking threat would be another welcome option for Leeds, who seemed to struggle in that area towards the end of the season.

"As a young attacking prospect, this would also be the sort of signing that seems to match up with the type of players Leeds appear to be looking to bring into their side."

Jacob Potter

"A smart signing.

"Mavididi will feel as though he has unfinished business in English football, and I think Leeds would be the perfect place for him.

"They need depth in attacking areas, and I think he could be the ideal replacement for Kemar Roofe if he is to depart Elland Road."

Louie Chandler

"It could be an exciting move.

"In Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford the Whites already have decent options in attack but adding another one into the mix can't do any harm.

"After spending most of his time in the Juve reserves he will certainly arrive with a point to prove as well."
