Norwich City's preparations for their return to the Premier League appear to have taken another step forward, after it emerged that The Canaries are interested in signing Rotherham midfielder Will Vaulks.

Despite the Millers immediate relegation back to League One, Vaulks has impressed in the Championship this season, scoring seven goals and assisting seven more for Paul Warne's side, with his performances earning him his first caps for Wales' senior side.

It appears that Vaulks efforts have also caught the eye of a number of others, with Team Talk reporting that Norwich, Sheffield United, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and recently relegated Premier League side Cardiff are all interested in the Welshman.

Vaulks has a year remaining on his contract at The New York Stadium, but it seems likely that he will move on in the summer following The Millers' return to League One.

So would Vaulks be a good signing for Norwich?

We put that question to some of our Football League World writers.

George Brooks

"This could be a good signing for Norwich City.

"Vaulks is an experienced midfielder and has been an important player for Rotherham over the past few seasons.

"He could have what it takes to make the step up to the Premier League.

"With other clubs also keen on him, it will be interesting to see where the player goes from here."

Toby Wilding

"This could be a risk for Norwich.

"They don't have much top flight experience within their ranks as it is, and with an apparently small budget to use in the summer, could be better served bringing some of that to Carrow Road in the next couple of months.

"As impressive as Vaulks has been at Rotherham in the past few years, that is not something that he currently possesses."

Chris Gallagher

"I'm not so sure.

"There's no doubt that the Wales international is a good character and will give his all for the team but they're in the Premier League now and I don't think he has the ability to play regularly at that level, particularly for a Norwich side that look to play football.

"Although, he will be available at a knockdown price so it's a relatively low risk move for the Canaries."
