Derby defender, Max Lowe has been linked with a move to Scottish giants, Celtic according to The Express.

The Bhoys are lining up a move for the 22-year-old, who they see as Kieran Tierney's ideal replacement if he is to leave the club over the summer.

Tierney has been the subject of a £15m bid from Arsenal according to Sky Sports, although that bid has been rejected by Celtic.

It remains to be seen as to whether the Gunners will submit another offer for the left-back, but Celtic are seemingly looking to find his potential replacement as soon as possible.

Lowe spent last season on loan with Aberdeen, and he's clearly caught the eye of Celtic with his impressive showings as Aberdeen finished 4th in the Scottish Premier League.

His future at Derby remains unclear at this moment in time, with Rams boss, Frank Lampard edging closer to becoming Chelsea's new manager according to talkSPORT.

But would Lowe be a good signing for Celtic?

We discuss....

Chris Gallagher:

"This is very underwhelming for Celtic fans.

"It has to be said that any left-back they do sign will have huge boots to fill providing Kieran Tierney moves on as expected, as the Scotland international is a top player.

"However, even though he had a decent season for Aberdeen, Lowe is nowhere near that level.

"Celtic will want to be competing in the Champions League and winning the league again, so they should be aiming for better, particularly with the money Tierney's sale will bring in."

Toby Wilding:

"I think this could be a good signing.

"Lowe has been impressive during his loan spells at Aberdeen in the past year or so, meaning there should be no concern about his ability to adapt to Scottish football should he move to Celtic.

"At 22-years-old, Lowe is approaching the peak years of his career, so that too is something that Celtic may well look to benefit from in the long term, given the pressure they are increasingly coming under from Rangers.

"Lowe does have time left of his contract at Derby, but Celtic could look take advantage of the uncertainty at Pride Park around the managerial situation right now, and putting the pressure on the Rams while that remains the case could help their cause here."

Ned Holmes:

"I think this could be a great addition for the Scottish Champions. He proved on loan at Aberdeen last season that he had the quality to thrive in the Scottish Premier League, making 42 appearances for Derek McInnes side.

"At the age of 22, Lowe’s best football is likely ahead of him, which combined with his experience makes him an attractive option.

"With two years left on his contract, it might be tough to prise the left-back away from Derby but the opportunity of European football will surely turn his head.

"It will be difficult for anyone to fill the shoes of Kieran Tierney if he leaves but bringing in Lowe as a replacement could be a smart bit of business."
