We do not have long left now until the excitement and monotony of the summer transfer window kicks into full gear.
After a thrilling season in the Championship there are certain to be a lot of names who have caught the eye and the latest story emerged today.
Football Insider today reported that top-six side Tottenham Hotspur were lining up a move for Bristol City full-back Lloyd Kelly, someone they believe to be a replacement for Jan Vertonghen.
But would it be the right move for him?
“I think that out of all the teams in the top six, Tottenham would be the best move for Kelly.
“Pochettino clearly likes signing players from the lower leagues, a prime example being Dele Alli from MK Dons of course.
“With Jack Grealish and Jarrod Bowen continuing to be linked with a move to North London, the Argentine definitely has an eye for young and upcoming talent, and he could definitely challenge for a place in the first-team.
“I think this would a good option for Kelly in the long term.
“He may not break into Pochettino’s side immediately, but the Argentine has a great track record in developing young players.
“This move would definitely benefit Kelly overall, but he also needs to make sure he’s playing first-team football next season.”
He may have to be patient, but in the long term it could be.
“It is unlikely Kelly would go straight into the first team as a regular, but Spurs do have a history of bringing young players through, and Kelly may feel he could be next to make that step.
“With the promise that Spurs are starting to show when it comes to competing for major honours, this could be a big opportunity for Kelly.”
