Charlton Athletic conceded a late equaliser against Birmingham City yesterday and many Addicks fans have been left frustrated by Macauley Bonne for squandering a chance to put the Addicks two up in the second half.
The result leaves the Blues five points clear of the bottom three with two games to go, while Charlton remain just two points above the relegation zone.
Birmingham had the chance to take an early lead but Dillon Phillips produced an impressive stop to deny Scott Hogan from the penalty spot.
The Addicks eventually broke the deadlock in the second half, Bonne tapping in the opener from two yards out after Alfie Doughty’s low cross.
Lee Bowyer’s men looked on course for a vital three points but the Blues found a response in the 3rd minute of injury time through Lukas Jutkiewicz, who converted from close range.
The late goal means that the threat of relegation remains very real for Charlton, who are just one place above the bottom three with two games left to play.
The Addicks will rue Birmingham’s late goal but they could have put the result beyond doubt not long before had Bonne converted a relatively simple chance in the 75th minute.
He was unable to find the net – something that doesn’t seem to have been missed by the Valley faithful.

Many Charlton supporters have taken to Twitter to reveal their frustration at Bonne squandering the opportunity.
Read their reaction here:
The Bonne miss from 4 yards out was abysmal last night by the way, like the Millwall miss. Big jump from Orient to being main striker in the Championship. Feel for him, been thrown in deep end. Again, the owners are to blame and Taylor for jumping #cafc

Lot of reactionary/emotional responses on here! We didn’t take our chances again! Blaming subs is shortsighted, Doughty was blowing, Jonny never does 90, McGeady doesn’t hit the post we win, Bonne doesn’t fluff an identical chance to his first we win #cafc

After yet another missed sitter and Bowyer’s weekend interview about punishing players, surely Bonne can’t start on Saturday? What more does Chuks have to do to earn his place? #cafc

Bonne has costed us tonight… has to score! #cafc

Two simple reasons we didn’t win today, 1. Bonne has to put us 2-0 up with that chance and 2. Phillips has to tip that shot around the post and not spill it back out into the middle #cafc

Might be a unpopular opinion but Bonne has cost us that game, can't score from 4 yards out, would've been 2-0 done and dusted but he hits it straight at the fucking keeper! #cafc

Bonne continues to miss open goals 1 on 1 …joker. Absolutely sickening that… #cafc

How did Bonne not score that!? So lazy with a tap in. #cafc
