‘Cost us’, ‘Really?’ – Many Sheffield Wednesday fans react to significant update on trio’s future

Sheffield Wednesday boss Tony Pulis has confirmed that the club have offered new deals to Tom Lees, Adam Reach and, captain, Barry Bannan.
The experienced trio are all out of contract at the end of this season, with the Owls reluctant to let three of their biggest assets leave on free transfers, especially if the club end up being relegated.
Bannan was named Wednesday’s captain at the beginning of this campaign, whilst both Lees and Reach are into their seventh and fifth seasons at Hillsborough respectively, and they’ll be needed more than ever at present, with the Owls currently bottom of the Championship table.
The big festive Sheffield Wednesday quiz: Can you get 20/20?
Despite their respective struggles this term, all three have all been outstanding servants to the club over recent years – with Bannan a clear fan favourite with the Wednesday faithful.
Wednesday’s contract offers have been given a mixed response on Twitter and, here, we’ve taken a look at exactly how the news has gone down on social media.

Might not hear back from them until the end of season on that one….

They’ve been terrific servants to the club but that squad needs freshening up, reach has had a couple of good games recently but on the whole he’s been poor, bannan looks lost, is terrible at set pieces, and seems to disappear in big games, interesting to see if they re-sign 🤷🏼♂️

Reach? Really? 😧 hope it’s on reduced terms…

I don’t see the three of them as the way forward. Need a fresher feel, we’ve become stagnant. Imo.

Why?! Stinks of Bruce coming in and handing out new deals to Palmer and Westwood when both should have been released. No long term strategy at #swfc at all. Most Short sighted team at this level. https://t.co/qgUSfxfdJ6
