Stoke City endured another tough night in the Sky Bet Championship on Friday, losing 3-2 to top-of-the-league Nottingham Forest.  

Nathan Jones, who finds himself in serious trouble, watched his side take the lead through Lee Gregory, but three Forest goals without reply turned the contest on its head.

Jack Butland, once competing for the England goalkeeping jersey, was at fault for the goal that allowed Forest back into it, spilling a cross from the right, which allowed Joe Lolley to fire home for 1-1.

Sammy Ameobi and Lewis Grabban piled further misery on Stoke to punish Butland’s error, before James McClean pulled a goal back to make things uncomfortable for Forest.

There’s no doubt that Jones is under pressure, but the performance of his goalkeeper has gone someway to costing him – not for the first time this season.
