Leeds United currently occupy fifth place in the Championship and are two points off West Brom in first.

Leeds have had a sub-par recent run of form and will be looking to get back to winning ways and the top of the table against Birmingham on Saturday. There have been some exceptional performers so far with some failing to live up to the expectation from pre-season, especially with most fans expecting nothing less than promotion this season.

Leeds will be expected to get back to winning ways in this fixture but have struggled to get going at home this season, with only two wins from five games at Elland Road.

With this in mind, we take a look at TWO players in form and TWO players struggling so far for the Whites…

Hot: Stuart Dallas

The Northern Ireland international has been an absolute revelation this season after filling in at right-back following Luke Ayling’s injury. He has arguably been Leeds’ best player, performing at both ends of the pitch with consistent solid defending, plus having a hand in the opposition box, scoring once and forcing an own goal against Derby.

Dallas’ performances have shown his value to a team lacking in squad depth, with Dallas playing in seven different positions already this season when called upon. Bielsa clearly has faith in Dallas, with the full-back entrusted with the captain's armband against West Brom following Liam Cooper's injury.

Not: Helder Costa

Having signed in the summer on-loan with an agreement to buy for a reported £15million, Helder Costa was tipped to be one of the leading lights for Leeds this season. So far, he has been largely disappointing.

Having been called upon to shoulder the creative burden left by Pablo Hernandez’s injury, Costa has failed to produce the moments of real quality everyone knows he is capable.

There is, however, still a lot of time for the Portuguese winger to find his feet at Elland Road and make a lasting impact.

Hot: Ben White

Since signing from Brighton on-loan in the summer, Ben White has been exceptional in a Leeds shirt, filling the void left by departed defender, Pontus Jansson.

From his first performance, White has demonstrated every quality necessary to succeed as a modern centre-back. He shows excellent defensive prowess both on the floor and in the air, as well as this, White is an accomplished ball-player, beating attackers with the ball and finding positive forward passes to start Leeds attacks quickly.

It should come as no surprise to see Leeds already having stiff competition should they look to secure his permanent signature.

Not: Jack Harrison

In his second loan stint with the Whites, Jack Harrison is frustratingly showing all the qualities of a dangerous winger except for the efficient decision-making or end-product to top it off.

Showing great movement off the ball and a marvellous first-touch, it all sets up for Harrison to create chance after chance for Leeds’ forward. For whatever reason, at the last moment, something goes wrong for Harrison, whether that be a poor execution or the wrong decision made.

If Harrison is to be a success at Elland Road, his execution and decision-making in and around the box needs to improve drastically.
