Wolves face yet more questions over their involvement with super-agent Jorge Mendes, with several Premier League clubs concerned at his business links with owners Fosun, claiming it's a conflict of interest.

Last month, Leeds and Aston Villa were particularly vociferous in their complaints about the way the Championship leaders had gone about their business, although Wolves insisted they had done nothing wrong.

Now, according to the Telegraph, several top-flight sides, including some of the elite clubs are holding 'urgent talks' at their quarterly shareholder meeting today.

The report states that they are concerned Mendes' involvement with the Black Country side gives them an unfair advantage in the transfer market, which is what those Championship clubs have alleged.

Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and manager Nuno Espirito Santo are all represented by the Portuguese agent and have made moves to Molineux, along with a few more players.

Despite Wolves insisting Mendes only acts as an advisor, owners Fosun do own a small stake in his Gestifute company.

Yet, the FA and EFL knew about this when approving the takeover in July 2016.

The Verdict

Everyone at Wolves will be bored of this subject but it appears it won't be going away for a while yet.

Although, they shouldn't have anything to worry about as nothing has changed since the takeover was complete and the FA were well aware of Mendes' connection.

With promotion to the Premier League expected to be confirmed this weekend, Wolves will hope this issue gets resolved as soon as possible.
