Chesterfield Town striker Ched Evans has signed a new 12-month contract extension with the club, it has been announced.
The former Sheffield United striker has been in red-hot form for the Spireites, scoring seven goals in 21 starts for the League One outfit this season.
His team haven’t had it all their way this season though and currently sit in the bottom three in the league.
But after a close-run 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Coventry City this weekend, Chesterfield’s hopes of staying in the division have been given a much-needed boost.
He told Chesterfield’s official website: “I’m really pleased to have got this sorted out. I want to play well and score as many goals as I can between now and the end of the season to help us get out of the relegation zone.”
Chesterfield currently sit in 22nd place in Sky Bet League One, having amassed 25 points from 27 league games so far this season.
