Blackpool won promotion back to League One this weekend after beating Exeter City 2-1 in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.

An early goal from Brad Potts put Blackpool ahead but they were pegged back by a chipped David Wheeler effort before half time.

But Mark Cullen - who scored a hat trick in the play-off semi-final - was the hero, poking in from close range to fire the Tangerines back to the third tier.

However, despite the glory on the pitch, the issues with the owners are still rumbling on off the field of play.

Blackpool fans continue to put pressure on controversial owner Karl Oyston with less than 6,000 fans present at Wembley as they boycotted the day.

Karl Oyston has responded, though, by saying that there are no potential buyers and that he has received no offers.

Talking to talkSport, Oyston criticised the supporters' trust and said that there is no imminent takeover.

Oyston said:

“There has been a lot of talk, and only talk, sadly.

"The supporters’ trust seem to have backed themselves into a corner somewhat.

"They say we should sell the club, but there are no buyers, no offers, other than the imaginary ones they sometimes talk about.

“So I don’t see how there is a possibility of them achieving their aims.

"If there are people out there to buy the club, if any offers come in, we’ll publicise it if we’re able to, but there just aren’t any.

“The supporters made what we call a ‘non-offer’ but they couldn’t even organise a big screen for the supporters who stayed away from Wembley to watch the game yesterday, so what hope have they got of running a football club?”
