Nigel Pearson has emerged as a potential candidate for the vacant managerial post at Norwich City after the Pink’Un report that he has applied for the job.

Pearson has been without a job since he left Derby County in October after failing to produce on the pitch and having a bust-up with Mel Morris off the field of play.

This came after his sacking as Leicester City manager, during which he called a journalist an “ostrich” and was dismissed after a falling out over the sacking of his son because of a distasteful video he made in Thailand.

This was two of a number of incidents he was involved in during his spell at Leicester, who won the Premier League a year after his sacking.

Norwich are searching for a new manager after parting ways with Scotsman Alex Neil recently.

53-year-old Pearson could be rivalled by former England boss Roy Hodgson for the role.
