Nile Ranger wants out of his Blackpool contract - and claims the club has left him penniless, reports The Mirror. 

Ranger returned to training this week after going AWOL since November but now he says that he is not wanted by the Seasiders, and they have kicked him out of the club's hotel despite promising him he could stay there free for a week.

As reported in the Daily Mail on Wednesday, Ranger claimed on his Instagram account that manager Neil McDonald told him to get back in his car and return to London as he wasn't part of his plans.

McDonald has been handed the task of getting Blackpool to compete in the third tier this coming season as they were relegated from the Championship, after a dismal campaign.

It was a surprise to everyone, not at least to the former Newcastle United man, that Blackpool had decided to take the 12 month option in his contract when the retained list was announced in May.

Ranger has had a number of off-the-field incidents in his short career, which has seen him be kicked out of both Newcastle and Swindon Town - his criminal record is more prolific than his goalscoring exploits.

The 24-year-old claims he has been left in dire straits as, following the club's relegation to League One, his contract of a basis £150-a-week and £33-a-minute playing bonus has been reduced.

He had asked the Bloomfield Road outfit for petrol money so he could drive to the North West from London, where he has recently been mourning the death of two of his friends.

Blackpool hold his registration and could ask for a fee should Ranger sign for another club, but whether they would be willing to pay any money is another question.

Ranger is said to have been fitness training this summer along with athletes and former West Ham striker Carlton Cole in order to get fit for the new season.

The striker scored twice in 14 appearances for Blackpool last season.
