Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane has sent a message to the club's supporters on social media after last night's win over Rotherham United.

It was a dramatic night at the New York Stadium, as ten-man Villa came from behind to win 2-1 with second-half strikes from substitute Jonathan Kodjia and captain Jack Grealish.

Villa were forced to do it the hard way after Tammy Abraham saw his first-half penalty saved and centre-back Tyrone Mings was sent off for handball, allowing Will Vaulks to put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot.

The visitors fought back with two goals in the space of three-second half minutes to turn the game on its head, with Kodjia equalising from the penalty spot before Grealish finished off a fine team move to score the winner.

Villa's seventh straight win sees them move up to fifth in the Championship table, one point ahead of sixth-placed Bristol City, who they face at Villa Park on Saturday.

After the important win at the New York Stadium, Hourihane shared this post with his Instagram followers.

The post shows Hourihane and his teammates celebrating Grealish's 51st-minute winner in front of the travelling fans and him embracing Mings after the game.

The Verdict:

It was an important result for Aston Villa last night and it is great to see this kind of passion from Hourihane.

Villa have been unstoppable in the past few weeks and will be confident of finishing the season in the play-offs.
