Swansea City midfielder Conor Gallagher has admitted he'd like to "do better" in upcoming games for the club.

The 20-year-old joined the Swans on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season in January, and has gone on to make a total of six appearances for the South Wales club, starting each time.

Gallagher has shown his quality in that period, registering three assists, with two coming in the 4-4 draw against Hull City last time out.

Speaking to the club website, Gallagher outlined how he feels about his time at the Swans so far.

“I’m going to give 100 per cent in every game, but it won’t work out in every game. People will see that,” he said.

“I feel like I did quite well against Hull and got a couple of assists, but I’d still like to do better."

His assist tally is only two less than Andre Ayew's for the whole season, who tops the standings at the club.

Despite his success at contributing towards team goals, Gallagher has yet to find the net for Swansea so far, which has been unexpected.

In the first-half of the season, Gallagher scored six times for Charlton.

The 20-year-old added that there is definitely more to come for him from now until the end of the season.

“I think there’s improvement there for sure. I’m looking forward to showing more of what I can do."

The Verdict

Gallagher has shown sparks of what he is capable of at Swansea so far, but Steve Cooper will want him to kick on for the remaining thirteen fixtures of the campaign.

In order for him to do that, he may need a rest for one game to recharge his energy levels.

Gallagher has played a total of 32 competitive games already this term, and has not had much in the way of a break.
