Conor Gallagher issues verdict on Swansea’s top-six hopes after WBA draw

Swansea City held West Bromwich Albion to a goalless draw in the Championship on Saturday.
Conor Gallagher gave another good account of himself at the weekend, helping his side to a credible point as West Brom lost their top-spot to Leeds United.
Swansea have been in-and-around the top-six throughout the season and after Steve Cooper’s impressive work in the transfer market in January, and a string of positive results after, they were right back in the midst.
Even though results have dropped off – Swansea have won just one of their last nine in the Championship – they remain in with a chance of snatching a late play-off place, and Gallagher still think there’s reason to believe:
Since his arrival he’s been a key part of the midfield, creating four goals in ten appearances and forming an effective partnership with fellow loanee, Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster.
Even though he’s yet to score, fans have been wholly impressed with the 20-year-old so far, and he’ll be one of the key players in Swansea’s run-in to May.

There’s only three points between Swansea and 6th-place Preston, which is pretty astonishing considering Swansea’s winless form.
They have a contested finish to the season though, with games against Middlesbrough and Luton Town to come, as well tougher ones against Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.
The verdict
There’s a host of teams who’ll be vying for a spot in the top-six. Fulham, Brentford and Forest look set to remain there, but Preston have been sitting precariously in 6th for some time, and they could easily lose out to one of the trailing teams.
