Birmingham City will be looking to put together a positive run of results in the near future under the management of Aitor Karanka in the Championship.

The Blues are currently sat 17th in the second-tier standings, and were forced to settle for a point in their most recent fixture against Luton Town.

One player that isn't with Birmingham this season is Connal Trueman, with Blues making the decision to loan him out for the 2020/21 season during the summer transfer window.

The goalkeeper has made 12 appearances for the Birmingham first-team, but Aitor Karanka clearly saw his short-term future away from St Andrew's.

Trueman signed for League One side AFC Wimbledon, and has certainly made a positive impact with the club. AFC Wimbledon narrowly avoided relegation into the fourth-tier of English football last term, but have made a strong start this term under the management of Glyn Hodges.

They're currently sat 12th in the League One table after their opening 13 matches of the new season, and will be looking to pick up points heading towards the potentially season-defining festive period.

Trueman has made 13 appearances in total for the Dons, and has kept four clean sheets in his time with the club so far. However, he tasted defeat in their most recent fixture against Gillingham on Tuesday, and will be eager to get back to winning ways when they return to action against Barrow in the FA Cup on Thursday.

It remains to be seen as to whether Trueman has a future at Birmingham City though, with Neil Etheridge putting in a number of strong performances for the Blues, which haven't gone unnoticed by the Blues supporters.

You have to imagine that it will be tough for Trueman to force his way into Aitor Karanka's plans anytime soon, but if he can continue to impress, then he'll fancy his chances of challenging for a place in the matchday squad with Birmingham.
