Bradford City have secured the service of Austin Samuels on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It has been confirmed by the Premier League side that they have agreed to send the young striker out on loan, with Bradford his destination.

Samuels bagged a goal for Wolves’ under-21 side on Tuesday evening against Bradford at Valley Parade. His strike shortly after the hour was cancelled out by Clayton Donaldson late on, but Wolves still won on penalties.

That was just the 19-year-old’s second appearance of the season for Wolves’ under-21s, with Samuels’ career a slow burner up until this stage.

Wolves sent him out to Kidderminster earlier in 2020, but this will give Samuels a real chance of making inroads in the EFL.

He links up with a Bradford side that have remained unbeaten in the three games at the start of 2020/21.

Stuart McCall’s side drew on the opening two weekends, but picked up a win over Stevenage on September 26th to get their first three points of the season on the board.

Samuels could debut on Monday night when Bradford take on Harrogate Town in a Yorkshire derby at Valley Parade.

The Verdict

This is a great opportunity for Samuels out on loan.

Bradford are a club that are big in terms of stature in League Two and the expectation on them will be good for the Wolves striker.

Of course, the most important thing is the 19-year-old getting games, which I think he will under McCall.
