Confirmed: Wolves announce new manager just one day after sacking Paul Lambert

Wolverhampton Wanderers have officially announced that Nuno Espirito Santo will become their new manager.

This comes just one day after they announced the news that Paul Lambert had been relieved of his duties as first team manager, following a dispute over the club’s transfer policy.

Wolves have moved swiftly to bring in Nuno Espirito Santo after he left his role as manager of FC Porto by mutual consent last week.

Nuno joins a growing Portuguese contingent at the West Midlands club with super-agent Jorge Mendes and players Silvio, Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa currently at Molineux.

The former Rio Ave and Valencia boss has brought a backroom staff of Rui Pedro Silva, Rui Barbosa and Antonio Dias with him to Wolves as the Championship outfit reshuffles its personnel behind the scenes.

The 43-year-old has been appointed ahead of the summer transfer window with Wolves expected to be active in the market.
