West Bromwich Albion have announced that defender Allan Nyom has joined Leganes on a season-long loan deal.

In a statement on the West Bromwich Albion website, the club confirmed that the 30-year-old full back has secured himself a one-year loan switch to the Madrid based Spanish side.

Nyom, who signed for the Baggies back in 2016 from Premier League side Watford, has gone on to make 69 first team appearances for the Albion in his two year spell at the Hawthorns.

Having made over 200 appearances for Granada in his six year spell at the club, Nyom certainly has bags of experience in the Spanish leagues.

The departure of Nyom means that Moore is now without a default right back in his squad, with versatile Craig Dawson likely to take over duties.

West Brom have started the season with one win, one loss and one draw, in a season where they were considered possible promotion contenders.

The Verdict

Allan Nyom struggled to excite fans at the Hawthorns since joining from the Hornets two years ago.

With a lack of pace or technique, it comes as no surprise that Darren Moore has chosen to send the Cameroon out on loan for the season.

Leganes, who finished 17th in La Liga last season, are an average side, but it will allow Nyom to play football week in, week out, and for the Baggies faithful sake, hopefully improve and come back to the Hawthorn’s a better player.
