Jordan Ayew has completed his loan move to Crystal Palace, with the Swansea City forward leaving for another shot at the Premier League.

The Swans have announced this evening that Palace have agreed a loan fee for Ayew’s service, with the 26-year-old heading to Selhurst Park on a season-long loan deal.

The forward has been part of Swansea’s squad since January 2017, making 58 appearances for the club and returning 12 goals.

Last season, as the Swans were relegated from the top-flight, Ayew featured regularly in the Premier League, playing in 36 of Swansea’s 38 league fixtures.

Ayew returned seven league goals for the Swans, adding a further two assists across the season.

However, Ayew’s efforts were not enough for Swansea in their fight against relegation, with the club now preparing for life back in the Championship under Graham Potter.

Ayew has now moved on following that relegation, linking up with Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace, who are set to begin their Premier League campaign this weekend with a clash against newly-promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The Verdict

Ayew adds to a lengthy list of departures, with this one always looking like it was going to be on the cards.

The Swans will be pleased they’ve received a loan fee for the forward’s service, whilst Ayew will be looking forward to linking up with a club who were on the rise under Hodgson last season.

Despite clutching at the positives, it’s been a difficult day for Swansea.
