Queens Park Rangers today made another addition to their squad with the arrival of defender Thomas Kefalas after a successful trial period, reported the club's official website

The centre-back has spent the last two-years with Haringey Borough in the Isthmian league and will join up with Paul Hall's under-23 side after signing a one-year deal.

However, he will have hopes of progressing through the ranks, with the London club short on senior players, whilst they've been keen to give youngsters a chance in the past few years.

Steve McClaren's side have had a bit of a mixed start to the season having lost their opening four games before going unbeaten in the next three games.

They beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 before drawing to Birmingham City 0-0 and then comfortably saw off Bolton Wanderers 2-1 away from home.

The R's host Millwall on Wednesday night although it is unlikely that Kefalas will be involved in any capacity.

The Verdict

He will most likely go largely unnoticed by the Loftus Road faithful but it is good to see the club still focused on bringing in future stars.

It would have been easy for them to ignore given the tough start to the season they have had but they have brought Kefalas in and it is good to see.

He will not get the chance to make an impact this season you suspect but could well be a brilliant player in the future.
