Norwich City have completed the free transfer of goalkeeper Tim Krul, the club have confirmed.

The 30-year-old has signed a two-year deal at Carrow Road after his release from Brighton this summer.

Before his stint on the south coast, Krul made 186 appearances for Newcastle over 12 years, with the vast majority of those coming in the Premier League, where he was a regular until he was hit by injuries, that included a serious knee problem.

However, the experienced former Dutch international will expect to be the number one at Carrow Road and is a big addition for the Canaries ahead of the new season.

Manager Daniel Farke was on the hunt for a new goalkeeper after Angus Gunn returned to Manchester City following a successful loan spell, with the youngster since moving to Southampton on a permanent transfer.

Signing Krul comes off the back of Ben Marshall's arrival from Wolves and the loan capture of Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes earlier this month, making it a productive few weeks for the Norfolk side.

The Verdict

The addition of Tim Krul to the Norwich side is an excellent bit of business for Daniel Farke.

The stopper has a wealth of Premier League and international experience under his belt and to land him on a free is great business.

With Angus Gunn back at Manchester City, Krul will no doubt become the Canaries number one, and you could argue he is one of the better keepers in the entire league.
