Norwich City have made big changes off the pitch over the past 12 months, and they look to be continuing with Scunthorpe United confirming that Chris Burton is leaving the club to be the Head Physio at the Championship club.

Burton currently occupies the role as the Iron's Head of Medical and Sports Science and will stay on until November 23, which is the date he will move to Norwich.

He had been with Scunthorpe since 2015 and CEO James Rodwell was grateful for the work Burton has done in his time with the club. “We would like to wish Chris all the best in his new role at Norwich City, and we thank him for his work over the past three years with us,” he told the official site.

Chris has been a most valued member of staff in his time here, whose efforts have been most appreciated.”

The Canaries have taken significant strides in recent times to change the way the club is run. High-earning players departed in the summer whilst the number of staff employed has also been reduced in order to cut costs. However, they clearly wanted to secure Burton for the new role at the club.

The Verdict

Norwich fans will be pleased to see that their club are always looking to improve aspects of the club although it will be hard for fans to judge Burton's work.

There have been big cuts made over the past year as Norwich look to come to terms with the financial implications that relegation has brought.

Yet, they still want to provide all the support for Daniel Farke and his backroom team and this move proves that.
