Millwall have this afternoon announced the signing of Ben Marshall from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the midfielder arriving on-loan until the end of the current season.

Millwall’s official website have confirmed that Marshall has arrived at The Den on a short-term loan deal, with the 26-year-old set to stay in London until the summer.

The winger had been at Molineux for just a year, managing to make 25 appearances for the club, scoring twice and assisting a further four following his move from Blackburn Rovers last January.

Marshall has a wealth of experience in English football, but this season has fallen foul to Wolves’ revolution under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Santo has Wolves top of the Championship table by some distance, with the now departed 26-year-old managing to make just nine appearances this season at Molineux, with some high-profile names ahead of him.

Marshall leaves Wolves’ promotion push for Millwall, where he will link-up with Neil Harris’ squad who have made a good impression on their return to the second-tier.

Millwall currently sit 14th in the Championship table, nine points above the relegation zone after 19 fixtures of the season.

Marshall’s arrival at the Den comes just days after the club completed the re-signing of Tim Cahill, who returned to the club 14 years after originally leaving.

The Verdict

Marshall is an excellent addition for Millwall, and was unlucky to be cast aside at Molineux this season, with the circumstances at Wolves unfortunate for more than just him.

Millwall are getting their hands on a player more than capable of improving their squad, which is beginning to have a really good look to it under Harris.

It has been a great month for Harris and Millwall.
