Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Huddersfield Town winger Rajiv van La Parra, who will join the club on loan until the end of the season.

After enduring a very frustrating summer that saw Tony Pulis fail to bring in many targets that he wanted, Boro were desperate to act quickly in the New Year.

And, they've done just that, with the club's official site confirming that the Dutchman will join up with his new teammates once the window is opened.

The quick winger, who has won promotion to the top-flight with the Terriers, is unable to feature in tomorrow's game against Derby due to registration deadlines.

Therefore, he is likely to pull on a Boro shirt for the first time when they take on Peterborough in the FA Cup this weekend.

His first league outing for the north east side could come against Birmingham in what will be a crucial clash between two play-off contenders.

The former Wolves man is joining a Boro side that are currently fifth in the Championship, six points behind second-placed Norwich.

The Verdict

This is great news for Boro as he is exactly the type of player the team need.

Since losing Adama Traore, Pulis' side have been predictable in the final third and lacking any sort of pace, which is reflected in the low number of goals they've scored this season.

But, van La Parra will change that and give them a much-needed different outlet when going forward.
