Fulham have confirmed that academy prospect Jay Stansfield has signed his first professional contract at the club.

The 17-year-old forward has been at Fulham on a scholarship basis thus far, joining the Cottagers in the summer from League Two side Exeter City.

“I didn’t think the contract would come as quickly as it did. I thought I’d have to settle in and wait at least a season. I’ve taken my chance and signed my pro, but I didn’t think I’d score as many goals as I have," Stansfield told the club website.

"I hope to start playing regular Under-23 football and get a few more chances with the first team."
