West Brom have announced that Graeme Jones will join the club as assistant manager to Darren Moore after leaving a similar position with the Belgium national team.

Jones has been a regular alongside Roberto Martinez over the years, following the Spaniard from Swansea to Wigan, Everton and then the Red Devils at the World Cup, where they finished third.

However, he has now decided to become the number two at Albion, with the club confirming that he has agreed to join up ahead of Saturday's first game of the season against Bolton.

It's a real coup for Moore and the club as Jones has built a fine reputation in the game and will be linking up with a man he knows well. The Baggies boss played with Jones at Doncaster in the late 90s.

And, Moore told the official site he was delighted to bring him to the club.

"He has all the right qualities as a man and all the right qualities as a coach. His attention to detail, his career record, and his qualities as a human being are exactly why I was determined he join me."

The Verdict

This is a very good move for West Brom as Jones is a fine coach and will bring a lot of attacking ideas to the team.

Clearly, he has a close relationship with Moore and it's vital that the manager has someone he can trust in such a vital role.

Now it's down to Jones to get his ideas across to the team as they gear up for what will be a tough Championship campaign.
