Bristol City have signed forward Mo Eisa from League Two side Cheltenham Town.

In a statement on the Bristol City website, the Robins announced that the 24-year-old arrival at Ashton Gate on a three year contract.

In the statement, Bristol City’s chief executive Mark Ashton stated: “We are thrilled to have signed Mo. He was in superb form in the last campaign and we hope he can make another step up in the football ladder.

“He is tall, athletic, a proven finisher and we believe he can become even better with the help of our coaching infrastructure.”

The young forward, who was playing non-league football for Greenwich Borough one year ago, found the net 23 times in League Two for Cheltenham Town last season.

With last season’s Robins top goal scorer Bobby Reid recently signing for Cardiff City, it leaves the starting striker spot up for grabs, with Mo Eisa the most likely candidate.

The Verdict

Lee Johnson will certainly be hoping he can improve on last season’s 11th place finish, and Mo Eisa can certainly help towards that.

Bristol City looked set for a play-off spot with just weeks left to go of the season, but fell away when it mattered, and will be hoping that Eisa can provide those all important goals to see them reach the upper end of the table this season.

Replacing the league’s third top goal scorer won’t be easy, but it is definitely a strong signing for the Robins.
