An announcement has come late on deadline day, confirming that the Robins have agreed an undisclosed fee with the Serie B outfit for the service of Djuric.

The towering 6ft 6in striker has been with the Robins since January 2017, going on to make 31 appearances for the club, with 27 of those coming in the Sky Bet Championship.

Djuric, 28, scored five goals for Bristol City in that time, with his spell in English football not proving to be the most prolific.

Last season, Djuric played on 16 occasions in the Championship, scoring three goals, with the striker also adding a League Cup goal in his only appearance in the competition.

Mark Ashton, who is managing director at Ashton Gate, has described Djuric as a popular figure at the club, wishing the striker well in the future.

Prior to his move to Ashton Gate, Djuric played for Cesena in the Italian Serie A.

The Verdict

Djuric was well down the pecking order at Ashton Gate, with Johnson turning to other options for much of last season.

His departure at this stage of the summer doesn’t come as a surprise, with Djuric sure to have a better chance of game time in Serie B.

The relationship between player and club is clearly strong, with Mark Ashton moving to deliver a kind message to the striker.
