Bradford City have completed the signing of Karl Henry, with the midfielder joining the Bantams on an initial two-month deal.

The 35-year-old will provide David Hopkin's struggling side with much-needed bite in the middle of the park, whilst his experience will also be a crucial factor.

The former Wolves man joined Bolton in similar circumstances last season and his influence was vital as the Trotters successfully preserved their Championship status.

And, Henry reflected on his time with Phil Parkinson's side as a motivation to help his new team when speaking to the official site:

"I am delighted have signed for Bradford and am relishing the challenge.

"I went to Bolton last year in a similar situation and certainly helped them stay up, so, hopefully, I can come and help the boys with what already seems to be the start of a turnaround."

He is joining a side that are bottom of League One and seven points from safety, with the Yorkshire side picking up just 11 points from 18 games.

They face a massive game against Oxford at Valley Parade tomorrow, with a crowd of around 20,000 expected for the clash between the two relegation-threatened sides.

The Verdict

This seems like a fantastic signing for Bradford as Henry will still have a lot to offer and has proven himself at a higher level.

Perhaps more importantly, he also has experience of being in this situation and that could help the entire dressing room.

But, he will have to make an immediate impact as the Bantams are in a very worrying position.
