Bolton Wanderers have signed Norwich's Yanic Wildschut on a season-long loan, with the winger a fifth summer signing for Phil Parkinson.

The 26-year-old was a big-money signing for the Canaries back in 2017 but struggled to make an impact at Carrow Road and is out-of-favour under Daniel Farke.

Therefore, Wildschut was farmed out on loan to Cardiff City at the start of the year and played a part as Neil Warnock's men won promotion.

And, he is on the move again, with the Trotters announcing his arrival this afternoon, with the former Middlesbrough man telling the official site how influential Parkinson was behind the move:

"It feels great to be here. I spoke to the manager this morning and he gave me a good feeling - he made me want to sign for Bolton Wanderers with what he said to me."

Meanwhile, the Trotters boss revealed what he expects from his latest signing: "He offers real pace and power and I am sure he will excite our fans."

The Verdict

Bolton have a very small budget by Championship standards so they have to be smart with their signings and this could be a real coup for the club.

Wildschut cost £7m 18 months ago and he's only 26, so the talent is there and it will be down to Parkinson to get the best out of him.

He will add real excitement to the team in the final third and is a very good addition to the team.
