Plymouth Argyle have announced the signing of Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Macey on a season long loan.
In a statement on the Plymouth Argyle website, the club confirmed that the 23-year-old goalie had joined the Pilgrims for the 2018/19 season.
Macey has enjoyed loan spells at then League Two sides Accrington Stanley and Luton Town in recent years, but only made two appearances throughout the whole of last season.
The young shot stopper has been on the books at the Gunners since 2013, and has made appearances in the Carabao Cup and Europa League, which both came last season.
Macey kept a clean sheet in his first and only European match, in a 0-0 draw with Red Star Belgrade.
Matt Macey will play under the management of Derek Adams at Home Park this season, and will wish to help guide his new side to an improvement on their seventh place finish in League One from last season.
The loan signing of Matt Macey is a strong addition to the Plymouth Argyle team for the upcoming season.
The Arsenal shot stopper has already featured in high profile matches at such a young age, which will help him attempt to guide his new side to the Championship.
Plymouth will be going into the season as a real threat, and with the acquisition of Macey, just go even better.
