Nacer Chadli has left West Bromwich Albion, the club's official website has confirmed.

AS Monaco have signed Chadli from West Brom on a permanent deal after the Championship club accepted an improved but undisclosed offer from the French giants.

Chadli played 37 games over two seasons with the Baggies, although he managed just five outings last term due to injury.

However, the Belgium international returned to action for the World Cup, where he played a starring role as Roberto Martinez's men came third.

Prior to his move to West Brom, the 29-year-old had spent three years as a fringe player at Tottenham Hotspur but his move to Monaco brings an end to his five year stay in England.

Monaco finished second in Ligue 1 last season and have offered the 6ft 2in winger Champions League football.

The Verdict

The consensus among West Brom fans will be good riddance.

Chadli demonstrated a poor attitude at times during his West Brom spell and was never intending to play for the Baggies in the Championship.

With his departure expected all summer, it was just a matter of getting as much money as they could and thanks to his World Cup performances for Belgium, Monaco have probably paid over the odds for him.
