Stoke City have today confirmed that midfielder Badou Ndiaye has left the club to rejoin Galatasaray on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Senegal international left the Turkish champions in January to join the Potters for a fee believed to be around £14m.

And, whilst he personally did reasonably well at times, it wasn't enough to prevent the side suffering relegation to the Championship.

Since then though, Ndiaye has not endeared himself to supporters, with constant rumours coming out that he wanted to leave.

Despite that, he played the opener at Leeds but was way off the pace as Gary Rowett's men fell to a thoroughly deserved 3-1 defeat where he played just 63 minutes.

He hasn't featured since, and with the Potters bringing in Ryan Woods, it seemed inevitable that he would leave.

And, the Staffordshire club confirmed that he has rejoined Galatasaray on loan.

The 27-year-old had only played half a season with Galatasaray before leaving for Stoke, but he was a key player as they went to top of the league, with the side going on to win the league.

The Verdict

This is a good move for all parties from a football perspective.

Ndiaye clearly wanted to leave, whilst Rowett has a lot of good midfielders at the club now.

Additionally, they lose a player who may be a bad influence off the pitch and reduce the wage bill.

The only issue is that financially they won't recoup the money they spent on the player.
