Former Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom was appointed as the new manager of Hibernian yesterday, his first job in football since leaving Elland Road.

Many Leeds fans will prefer to forget his time in charge, where he oversaw a complete collapse as the side tumbled towards the bottom of the table. He parted ways with the club in the summer, succeeded by Marcelo Bielsa.

Whilst the Whites have gone from strength to strength, Heckingbtoom has bided his time, waiting for the right opportunity to present itself. He's signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Easter Road and will be assisted by Robbie Stockdale.

Leeds fans were quick to jump on social media to offer their take on the appointment, with opinion clearly split. Heckingbottom did a grand job at Barnsley, but his Leeds spell was nothing short of a disaster. Some feel he took the right job but at the wrong time, others wished him all the best.

One or two, still scarred by his tenure as manager, aren't quite as positive. Here's the best of their responses below.
