Tottenham will recall Jack Clarke from his loan with Leeds United in January before sending him out for a spell elsewhere.

The 19-year-old joined Spurs in the summer from the Whites but was sent back to Elland Road immediately after impressing under Marcelo Bielsa last season.

However, the current campaign has not gone to plan at all for Clarke, with the teenager featuring in just one Championship game - as a sub in the win at Luton.

As you would expect, that has annoyed the Premier League side who wanted the winger to be playing regularly to aid his development.

Therefore, it's perhaps no surprise to see Football Insider claim that the Londoners have now made their mind up and that they will look to bring Clarke back when the window opens, something which was part of the original deal.

That doesn't mean the England youth international will stay at Spurs though, with the report also adding that he will be loaned out once again to another second-tier side who will guarantee the youngster regular minutes.

The verdict

This is no surprise and you have to say it's undoubtedly the best decision for Clarke's career as he needs to be playing football and that's not happening with Leeds.

These things happen in football and it's a deal that hasn't worked out, something few would have imagined when he returned in the summer.

So, it will be interesting to see where Clarke ends up but he's not going to be missed too much by Bielsa who has some quality attacking options at his disposal.
