Mason Mount has been sensational for Derby County in the Championship this season, since joining on loan from Chelsea.

The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the stand-out players in the second tier, scoring an impressive ten goals and contributing five assists in 36 appearances for the Rams in all competitions.

The young attacking midfielder stole the show on Saturday with a hat-trick, as the Derby kept their Championship play-off hopes alive with a 4-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Pride Park.

Mount has thrived under the guidance of manager Frank Lampard this season, someone who knows a thing or two about scoring goals from midfield.

The midfielder has proven with his performances for Derby this season that he has the potential to succeed in the Premier League and he could be a future star for Chelsea.

He has received plenty of praise from Lampard for his performances this season and his man-of-the-match display at the weekend drew more comparisons between him and his manager.

Lampard is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Chelsea history and is the club's all-time leading goalscorer.

The Derby boss won 11 major trophies during his time at Stamford Bridge, including three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League.

Mount will no doubt be aware of the comparisons being made between him and the Chelsea legend, but it is important for Lampard to keep the player grounded.

He has clearly got the ability, but his attitude is just as important at this stage of his career and he cannot afford to let these recent compliments affect his performances on the pitch.

After his display against Bolton at the weekend, Lampard described Mount as clam and humble, but stated that he has the desire to become a top player.

Mount has described Lampard as a role model throughout his career and while he is at Derby, the attacking midfielder has an invaluable opportunity to learn from one of the greatest goalscorers in Premier League history.

If he can continue to mature as a player the way he has done this season throughout his career, he has the potential to become one of the brightest young stars in the Premier League.
