Stoke City have made some very impressive signings in the transfer window so far, with the board showing real intent as they look to bounce back to the Premier League straight away.

Benik Afobe joined in a £12m deal whilst Nigerian international Oghenekaro Etebo signed for just over £6m and had a very impressive World Cup.

Yet, perhaps more importantly, The Potters managed to convince Joe Allen to stay in what was a major boost for Gary Rowett and Jack Butland could yet stay as well.

All in all, it's made for a very good summer so far for Stoke, although Xherdan Shaqiri is sure to leave in the coming weeks.

Nevertheless, they will expect promotion but there is a lot of good sides who will think similar and Rowett will want a few more quality additions to beef up his squad and add real quality.

Here we look at three signings that would push Stoke above their rivals and make them favourites for promotion...

The big defender is a favourite at Stoke and would be a great signing on a free. He is still a solid defender, has great experience and the right mentality.

With the Potters perhaps a player or two short in central defence then it's a no-brainer for Rowett to bring Huth back.

The Potters are making a big play to land the winger who would be an ideal replacement for Shaqiri.

He has shone in the Championship before, starring in promotions for Bournemouth and Newcastle and has the quality to be an outstanding player at this level again.

Even though Afobe will score goals, they still lack depth up top.

If they could secure Gray it would give them two superb options at this level and would solve all goalscoring problems. The partnership could be devastating and Stoke would have the firepower to win the league.
