Leeds United midfielder Lewis Baker is set to be recalled by Chelsea due to the lack of game time the player has had at Elland Road.

The former England U21 international arrived at the Whites in the summer with a big reputation and there was a hope that he could have a big impact on the side.

However, that hasn't really happened, with boss Marcelo Bielsa only starting the 23-year-old twice in the league this season.

Therefore, Football Insider report that the Blues are set to recall the ex-Middlesbrough midfielder in order to loan him elsewhere.

But, is this a blow for Leeds?

Our writers take a look...

Jacob Potter

"It's the best move for both parties.

"Baker hasn't been getting anywhere near enough game time this season, and his development could have taken a real dent this season with the Whites.

"He has the ability to be playing regular football and I'm not surprised to see Chelsea looking at recalling him. Leeds will need to add some depth to their midfield if he does return to the Blues."

Chris Gallagher

"This is completely understandable.

"Baker hasn't done as well as Chelsea or Leeds would've hoped and his parent club want him to get regular football elsewhere.

"This should force the Whites into the market, as even though he wasn't a regular, Bielsa needs more depth in his squad."

Alfie Burns

"Unfortunately this looks like it has been on the cards for a while.

"Baker has had no impact at Leeds this season and does look like he needs a fresh start away from Elland Road.

"Leeds will need a replacement, though, Bielsa can't afford to lose another body."
