Leeds United have handed new contracts to captain Liam Cooper and versatile wide-man Stuart Dallas, which has excited many fans of the club.

Cooper has signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at Elland Road until the summer of 2024, while Dallas’ new four-year deal will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.

The duo have featured regularly in Marcelo Bielsa's backline this season, helping Leeds concede the fewest goals in the Championship and keep three clean sheets.

Cooper joined the Whites from Chesterfield in 2014 and has gone on to make 165 appearances for the club, in addition to taking the captain’s armband in recent years.

Such have been the quality of his performances under Bielsa that last term he earned himself a place in the EFL Team of the Season and this year he received his first international cap for Scotland.

Dallas arrived at the club in 2015, featuring 152 times since, and has been converted into a right-back to great effect by the Argentine coach this season.

The news comes just two days after talismanic midfielder Kalvin Phillips signed a new five-year deal at the club and many Leeds fans appear excited about this latest contract update.
