West Bromwich Albion suffered their second defeat of the season last night at the hands of Middlesbrough, who moved to the top of the Sky Bet Championship table.
Darren Moore’s side struggled to deal with Middlesbrough’s physicality late on, as Daniel Ayala buried a chance that broke to him in the area.
The Baggies have picked up seven points from a possible 15 at this stage of the season, with West Brom failing to adapt to life back in the second-tier as quickly as they might’ve liked.
Last night, Harvey Barnes was West Brom’s main attacking threat, however, Moore moved to substitute him midway through the second-half, which helped nullify his side’s threat.
That decision was not well received amongst West Brom’s supporters, who were less than impressed with Moore’s brave call.
Here is the best of their reaction from Twitter, where they voiced their displeasure at the manager’s call…
Hands up it was poor! Shocking goal although defensively we were actually quite good tonight.. Harvey Barnes was out best player and we took him off ? Confident that we will be there or there about.. but if will be tough!! #wba #WeNotMe

Exactly what I expected. 2nd half we didn't play too bad. Gayle should've scored. The most frustrating thing about tonight is the fact I didn't understand Barnes going off. Anyone else? #wba

352 at home fine. Away Phillips not in game. No legs in cm were overrun. Rodriquez offered nothing for us today. Brunt and Livermore were poor. Yet all 3 played 90 mins… soon as Barnes goes off we have no outlet, ideas or pace #WBA

Was always going to be a 1-0 wasn’t it. Thought taking Barnes off was a mistake, he looked most likely to create something – Morrison too ponderous / slow. Not at all convinced by Bartley and the less said about Brunt the better #wba

Brunt cant carry on playing. Barnes shouldnt have come off. I wanna go home now #WBA

To be honest, we didn’t deserve anything from that. No energy in central midfield. Who’d have thought it. Brunt cannot do that job full time. No creativity to get through a solid defence after Barnes removed. Poor service to forwards. Poor subs. Lots to learn. #wba

Darren Moore… poor poor subs. Barnes was getting in the game and looked our only threat.
Morrison and Brunt 2 yards off it.#WBA
