Charlton boss Lee Bowyer will not face any punishment from the FA after he was sent off during the defeat to Birmingham last time out.

The Addicks chief was furious with some of the behaviour by the Blues bench throughout, particularly when they threw a ball on the pitch in stoppage time.

When the ball came his way, Bowyer picked it up and threw it towards the away dugout and he was dismissed as a result.

However, the club confirmed on their official site yesterday that the FA would 'not be taking any formal disciplinary action' against the manager.

That means he will be allowed on the touchline against Wigan this weekend and that will be a big boost for the Londoners who are looking to get back to winning ways after their first defeat of the campaign last time out.

The support were delighted with the outcome, although they still weren't happy with the referee's display.
